The Daniel Technology model MPA-12-PB is a microphone preamplifier and power pack for use with the model EM-8 and LV-7 electret microphones. The input jack mates securely with the unique 3.5mm locking connector from Daniel Technology as well as standard 3.5mm connectors. Power is provided by a 3.6 volt Lithium battery which has a very long shelf-life. The battery powers both the amplifier and microphone. Typical battery life is 12 to 18 months of continuous operating time, depending on signal levels and automatically shuts off when the microphone is removed. There is no power consumption at all when the microphone input is disconnected. The MPA-12-PB amplifier has a special ultra low-noise design and there is extensive RF suppression for use near transmitters and video equipment without interference. In extreme conditions copper foil can be applied to the outer case to form a Faraday cage which provides even greater shielding. Amplifier gain is normally 34 dB, but may be specified as any value up to 50 dB. Dimensions are 3-½ inches long by ¾ inch diameter. The standard output cable is fifteen inches long with a choice of 3.5mm or RCA connector. Other configurations may be ordered as needed.

The Daniel Technology model MPA-12-RB is similar to the MPA-12-PB except that it is housed in a 3 3/4" x 2 3/8" x 1" ABS box with two replaceable AAA batteries which last 5 to 8 months continuous use and the standard gain is 34 dB. A fifteen inch output cable is standard and lengths up to 200 feet may be specified as needed. It is well suited to those situations where minimum size is not required and changing the batteries without moving equipment is desired. The MPA-12-RB-2 is a stereo (two channel) version in the same size box.

The Daniel Technology model MPA-12-MB is ideal for those situations where maximum noise immunity is required. It operates on external power from 6 to 15 volts and has full internal filtering and regulation. The single channel unit is only 1 1/2 x 3/4 x 1/2 inch. Various size boxes are available on special order. The all metal construction allows for use of our unique locking input connector and provides excellent noise immunity. RCA type output jacks are available as well as all others described above.

The TA-17 was developed in response to the varied needs of law enforcement personnel for audio monitoring. It is a high gain stereo amplifier with lower noise and distortion than any other unit on the market. Recorder outputs may be adjusted manually or by automatic level control (ALC). An LED provides warning of both signal overload and low battery. The extremely advanced ALC is capable of a wide range of adjustment without pumping or distortion. Super high efficiency circuits assure long operating life from the internal 9 volt battery while providing plenty of drive for two sets of stereo headphones. Through careful attention to detail Daniel Technology designed into the TA-17 many features which make it a flexible and reliable tool for a wide range of law enforcement technical operations. The TP-6 is primarily used for telephone recording. It can also be used either as a noise canceling microphone or an earphone.

As a telephone pickup, it can be used with any type of telephone including most cell phones. It is also more immune to electrical noise than the older induction coil devices. By placing the foam side of the TP-6 in the ear and holding the phone over it, both sides of the conversation are recorded.
