The Daniel Technology LRMP-24 is a combination remote control interface and stereo microphone preamp for the Sony DCR-PC9 and other miniature CamCorders which use LANC bus control. Because the LRMP-24 provides both LANC control commands and an independent stereo microphone preamp, it will work with the CamCorder in either "CamCorder" (built-in camera) or "VCR" (external video feed) mode. The remote control works with both hard wired switches such as the Daniel Technology NLS-2 or LS-1 and the Daniel Technology model AER-16F wireless remote control system.

The microphone preamp will accept stereo electret microphones such as the Daniel Technology EM-8/NT or MM-15/NT. In order to maximize battery life, preamp power consumption is less than 250 µAmp per channel. In "stand-by" mode, the LRMP-24 draws less than 1 µAmp, preserving the full capacity of the CamCorder battery. Input noise is a maximum of 2 µVolt "A" weighted (less than the internal noise of the microphones). Frequency response is 70 Hz to 5 KHz ±3 dB.

External video input is accepted at a loop-through jack which is identical to the A/V input on the CamCorder, thereby allowing the same camera to be used with the controller or directly into the CamCorder. An RCA to A/V adapter is available.

The LRMP-24 is powered by the host CamCorder and requires no additional batteries. It powers the electret microphones, but does not provide power to any camera or wireless remote control device. It does not substantially change the battery life of the CamCorder.

The Daniel Technology model LRMP-24PS provides switching of the camera power from the same switch which operates the CamCorder. The Daniel Technology LRA-MOS provides the same LANC controller without any microphone preamp or A/V connection.

Dimensions of the controller box are 2 1/8 x 1 3/8 x 5/8 inch. Cables from the controller to the CamCorder can be any length specified by the customer up to 6 feet.
